WiNRADiO WR-DRD-171 Digital Radio Decoder

The WiNRADiO WR-DRD-171 Digital Radio Decoder is a smart and handy decoder dongle that provides a hardware codec for single channel reception of digital transmissions. The unit plugs into the PC USB2 or USB3 port, which also provides power for the in-built hardware decoder.

The DRD (Digital Radio Decoder) uses an AMBE+2 vocoder for voice decoding. The WiNRADiO DRD Demodulator/Decoder plugin is used to receive digital transmissions with a codec employed to produce decoded audio from the transmission (this device provides the necessary codecs).

The WiNRADiO DRD makes it possible to demodulate, decode, analyze and monitor DMR/MOTOTRBO, dPMR, D-STAR and NXDN digital signals (excluding encrypted types) using the WiNRADiO WR-G39DDC, WR-G69DDC and WR-G315 series of receivers.

The adjacent screenshot shows the WR-G39DDC and WR-G69DDC receiver application, where a separate window is spawned. With the WR-G315 receiver, the decoder panel is embedded within the main application window. The decoder supports the voice traffic on both inbound and outbound channels, displays digital transmission parameters and supports a secondary transmission channel if 2 TDMA channels on a single frequency are being transmitted.
